Introduced in 2015, the 52615 is the latest version of IWC's 7-day power reserve perpetual calendar movement. Its movement notably sports twin barrels and a solid gold rotor.
This IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Double Moon IW503401 has a mechanical automatic self-winding IWC caliber 52615 movement. It has two barrels (necessary to provide a 7-day power reserve running time and to drive 9 functions and dials), and a bidirectional Pellaton winding mechanism with ceramic pawls. It's constructed with 54 jewels, and a Glucydur beryllium alloy index-less balance with high-precision adjustment screws on the balance rim. It has a shock absorber device, a self-compensating Breguet flat balance spring, and a small hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. There is an 18k rose gold rotor, and the movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 Vph (4Hz). The IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Double Moon IW503401 debuted in January, 2015. Its moon phase calendar will only require a correction of 1 day after 577.5 years.
Case, dial, and movement are all signed.
