About the brand

Dive deep into the world of Breguet and discover our pre-owned Breguet watch collection - Twain Time

Established in 1775 in Ile de la Cité in Paris by famed watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet, Breguet continues the legacy of its innovative founder. A-L Breguet was responsible for a long list of watchmaking inventions including the tourbillon, the Breguet overcoil, and early self-winding movement systems. What’s more, decorative elements such as Breguet hands and Breguet numerals are still very much used today, two centuries after A-L Breguet’s death.

While contemporary Breguet watches are crafted with cutting-edge equipment and tools and powered by advanced mechanical horology, many of the brand’s timepieces are still proudly classical in style and serve to champion traditional watchmaking techniques. Breguet watch collections such as the Tradition, Classique, and Héritage feature signature design details of the brand including dials engraved with engine-turned guilloché patterns, delicately fluted casebands, and blue Breguet hands with moon tips. Breguet continues to manufacture an impressive assortment of complicated timepieces, ranging from GMTs and perpetual calendars to minute repeaters and, naturally, tourbillons.

There is another sportier side to Breguet that’s rooted in military history. For instance, the Marine collection draws inspiration from A-L Breguet’s days as the chronometer maker of the French Navy, while the Type XX - XXI – XXII collections pay tribute to the chronographs Breguet supplied to the French naval air army in the 1950s.
