Patek Philippe launched the first Nautilus to the market in 1976 and has never ceased to exemplify the elegance of this sports watch. Along with the now-famous 5711 and 5712, the Nautilus 5980 was introduced in 2006. In honor of the Nautilus's 30th anniversary, these three timepieces were released, with the 5980 being the first Nautilus to feature a chronograph complication, though it was initially only available with a black and blue dial. The steel-only Nautilus ref. 5980/1A-001 chronograph was discontinued in 2014.
