Patek Philippe's 1932 release of the Calatrava model opened the way for what is probably the century's most iconic dress watch. The design has changed over time, but the core characteristics remain the same. Calatrava is the trademark model of Patek Philippe; its ageless design has made it a symbol of elegance that transcends generations.

The concave polished bezel surrounds a silver metallic dial with yellow gold dauphine-shaped hands, yellow gold applied faceted dart hour indices and embossed dot minute divisions along the outer rim.
The solid two-body 18K yellow gold case is polished and secured with a screw-on case back.

The caliber 240 micro-rotor movement features the Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium finishing, fausses côtes decoration, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism, and five settings, shock absorber mechanism, and self-compensating free-sprung balance spring.
The oscillation frequency of this mechanism is 21,600 vph (4Hz).
The dial, case, and movement are all signed.

The Calatrava reference 5032, manufactured between 1995 and 2001, includes the famed ultra-thin automatic caliber 240. The 5032 was released in three series: the first with a metallic dial, the second with a silvered dial and flatter bezel and crown, and a limited edition of 100 timepieces commemorating the year 2000.

This example from the early production run was produced in 1995. The case has a 36 mm diameter, a 7 mm thickness, a smooth, concave bezel, stepped lugs, and a screw-down, watertight case back. The silver metallic dial features applied 18K yellow gold faceted dart hour indices, embossed dot minute divisions along the outer rim, and dauphine-shaped hands.

This timepiece is in fine shape and comes with a Patek Philippe presentation box and an extract from the Patek Philippe archives confirming its 1995 production date. Additionally, it comes with a 12-month limited warranty from Twain Time.
