The screw-down exhibition sapphire crystal case back is engraved with the signature "Vacheron Constantin," the serial number, a hallmark, and the reference number. Between 9 and 10 o'clock, there is a corrector button for setting the date.

The polished solid two-body case measures 37mm in diameter and features downturned fluted lugs and a stepped bezel. The silver dial features rose gold Roman numeral hour markers and gold round-shaped hour indices at odd hours, gold baton hands, and a blued center indicator hand with a skeletonized arrow pointer.
Between 9 and 3 o'clock, there is a retrograde 31-day date arch, and at 6 o'clock is a recessed subsidiary dial for the days of the week with black Arabic numerals and a rose gold indicator hand. It is water-resistant to 30 meters/100 feet and features a signed case, dial, and movement.

The reference 47245 is powered by a rhodium-plated mechanical automatic VC caliber 1126/1 movement embellished with fausses côtes decoration. It is comprised of 36 jewels, has a shock absorber, and a straight-line lever escapement. It features a monometallic balance with temperature, cold, isochronism, and five positions adjustment. The balance spring is self-compensating, the rotor segment is engraved in 21K gold, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
