Gérald Genta designed the Rolex King Midas left-handed watch in tribute to the legend of King Midas, who possessed the golden touch with his left hand. Rolex introduced the watch in 1964, followed shortly after that by the slightly smaller 'Queen Midas' version, which features the same intriguing design as its larger sibling. It was the heaviest gold watch available and was created for a select few, appealing specifically to left-handed clients and designed to be worn on the right wrist.
This well-preserved Rolex Queen Midas 18K yellow gold asymmetrical wristwatch example, ref. 9768 has a clean champagne dial that complements the unconventional asymmetrical case and is powered by the manual movement caliber 650.
