Patek Philippe introduced the Calatrava Officer's reference 5053 in 2001 and produced it until 2005. It features an Officer's case back, which reveals a sapphire crystal display case back that shows the movement. The bezel and crown have a traditional military profile, the lugs have screws and posts rather than spring bars, and the display back's hinged cover recalls trench watch cases.

The caliber 315 SC movement is rhodium-plated with fausses côtes decoration and stamped with the quality mark of the Seal of Geneva. It has uni-directional winding,  a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber, and an 18K gold rotor. It has the patented Patek Gyromax balance that adjusts for cold, heat, isochronism, five positions, an overcoil spring, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. The mechanism runs at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz)

Returns & Exchanges
