Reference 16750 succeeded reference 1675, introducing the quickest feature, and with this change, the order of the hands changed as well (1675: GMT/Hour/Minute/Second - 16750: Hour/GMT/Minute/Second).
The Caliber 3075 was produced from 1981 to 1988; it was then replaced by the caliber 3175.
Serial # 665***** - year 1982
The Rolex GMT-Master 16750 featured two separate dial versions over the course of its eight-year manufacture run. The initial edition featured a matte black dial accented with tritium hour markers (much like the reference 1675). Unfortunately, when these early matte dials were sent in for service, they were usually replaced with later gloss dials, making matte dials even more scarce. Interestingly, the matte 16750s all have an unusually tall, extended coronet. The subsequent second variety included a glossy black dial with white gold indices, commonly linked with modern Rolex GMT versions.
